    Demand-to-Change

From an idea for changing a technology service to that change running in production and proven to work — the stream that joins demand intake, architecture review, delivery and change enablement, and the one most often described as "the process" by people who have only seen one stage of it.

      Capture Demand

      VS-80.10

Record the request once, with the business outcome it serves and the services it touches, so it can be compared with every other request.

    2. 02

      Assess & Prioritize

      VS-80.20

Judge value, cost, risk and fit against the portfolio, and decide whether and when the work is funded.

    3. 03

      Design & Review

      VS-80.30

Shape the solution, check it against the architecture principles and standards, and record the decisions and exceptions.

    4. 04

      Build & Test

      VS-80.40

Engineer the change, integrate it and prove it works and is secure before anyone asks to deploy it.

    5. 05

      Approve the Change

      VS-80.50

Assess the risk of the deployment itself, using the CMDB's view of what the change touches, and approve it at the level that risk deserves.

    6. 06

      Deploy

      VS-80.60

Release the change into production through the agreed path, with a rollback that has been tested rather than assumed.

    7. 07

      Verify & Close

      VS-80.70

Confirm the service works as intended, update the Configuration Items the change altered, and close the demand against its original outcome.
