Digital Twin
GL-505 · also Twin, Virtual Twin
A live digital model of a physical asset, process or system, kept in step with its real counterpart at an agreed frequency and fidelity, so it can be monitored, analyzed and tested without touching the real thing.
The word covers everything from a 3D model to a full simulation. Ask what the twin is synchronized with, how often and for which decision; a model nobody updates is documentation, not a twin.
