Operational Technology
GL-500 · also OT, Industrial Control Systems, ICS
Hardware and software that monitors or controls physical equipment and processes, such as control systems, sensors and plant historians, as opposed to systems that handle business information.
OT priorities differ from IT: availability and safety come first, equipment lives for decades and patching can mean stopping a line. Plan integration and security with that in mind.
