Service Level Objective
GL-460 · also SLO
An internal target for how reliably a service should behave, stated as a measured indicator such as success rate or latency over a time window, for example 99.9 percent of requests served under 300 ms.
An SLO is a team's own target; a Service Level Agreement is a contract with consequences. The gap between the SLO and perfect is the error budget a team may spend on change.
