Event-Driven Architecture
GL-240 · also EDA, Event-Driven
An architecture style in which components announce that something has happened as events, and other components react to those events, rather than calling each other directly and waiting for answers.
The phrase covers several distinct patterns, from simple notifications to event sourcing, each with its own trade-offs. Name the specific pattern when making a decision.
