Architecture Principle
GL-620 · also Design Principle
A durable rule that guides architecture choices, stated with its rationale and implications, such as preferring shared services to duplicates, so many decisions stay consistent without case-by-case debate.
A principle nobody would argue against, such as "systems should be secure", does not guide any choice. Good principles have a cost and rule something out.
