AI Agent
GL-890 · also Agent, LLM Agent
A software system in which a language model works toward a goal by choosing and calling tools in a loop, reading each result and deciding the next step, until it judges the goal met or reaches a stopping limit.
Not every LLM feature is an agent: a fixed sequence of model calls is a workflow. This catalog places agent design under BC-770.30 and the controls agents work within under PN-220 and PN-230.
